This september, United Kingdom educational magazine “Times Higher Education” has released its Top 10 University Ranking In The World 2017. Its certification was based on the following evaluations.

  • Teaching (the learning environment)

  • Research (volume, income and reputation)

  • Citations (research influence)

  • International Outlook (staff, students and research)

  • Industry Income (knowledge transfer)

Summation

As it did last year, Oxford retains the top spot, followed by Cambridge, which took fourth place last year.

Of the 62 U.S.-based schools in the top 200, 29 have dropped in the ranking since 2016. Half of the top 200 are European schools, with the Netherlands, Germany and the U.K. the most-represented countries.

China landed two universities in the top 30 and almost all Chinese universities have improved.
